Poker Tells
Poker tells are the acts, actions, mannerism and reactions which are exhibited by the poker players while they are playing, from which you can decipher the state of their mind. In this edition I would discuss on few ‘pokers tells’ which might enhance your chances of winning.
- Eyes never lie: You can get to know much by watching carefully the eyes of your co-players. This is the reason why most of the poker players opt to where sunglasses while they play the game.
- Expressions: Most of the feelings which you go through are well depicted by from your facial expressions. So it is always advisable to keep your feelings within and avoid expressing what you feel after seeing what lies in your hand. Your co-players would easily recognize or would come to know about what you are going through.
- All that glitters is not gold: Few experienced players play the tact of expressing actions and feelings, of just the actual, i.e. in reality, the player would be having a good hand, but would exhibit actions as if he is having bad game just to mid lead the other co-players.
- Comfort zone: Misguiding is also never easy. Sometimes it may happen that the player might try to misguide you be showing features like nervousness and tension, but in reality it is not so. You can distinguish such players from the comfort zone they maintain, like they would play with expanded chests, etc.
- Shaky hands: This might be seen in players who are expecting a win. A player with a bad hand would obviously quit, so of the player is found to exhibit such characteristics, and then you can round on that he is all set to win.
- Glancing at the chips is the other action represented by the players when they are about to plan their attack.
- Body posture speaks a lot: The body posture of the person also tells a lot on what exactly he is going through. If he is expecting a win he would obviously be relaxed and calm, though most of it is a combination and subtraction behavior.
- The pattern of chip arrangement: From the way the chips are arranged, you can make out a bit about the player. Good and tight players would arrange the same in a neat manner, whereas the loose players would be exhibit loose and flaccid chips.
Thus, these are few of the basic ways by which you can analyze, what lies ahead, but remember to use the above tips in combinations and never analyze a player just with a single tip.
