Skill, preparation, experience and coolness of the mind is required to bluff in the poker game. The two ways by which you can set up a bluff at your poker opponent are :

Consistent, predictable play

The best way of setting the stage is to have a consistent playing strategy, in order to use your bluff later in the game. Being careful, you need to play in such a manner, that your moves will seem predictable to your playing opponents in the first few hands. Play safe and fold, when having weak hands. If you have a drawing hand, continue calling but play slowly. And if you have a monster hand, play it aggressively.

In short, you need to play textbook poker in the beginning, so that when your opponents have figured you, spring your bluff. You can be labeled as a tight player or a loose player at your table if you become predictable.

Unpredictable play

By following this, you actually become unpredictable. By playing safely, not reacting to your opponents, you can hide from your opponents whether you have a good or a weak hand. They would never be able to predict whether you are poker bluffing or truly having good cards.
